How to calculate height of a building using theodolite?

To calculate height of a building the following equipment are required:=

EQUIPMENTS :-
1) THEODOLITE
2) TRIPOD STAND
3) RANGING RODS
4) CHAIN
5) ARROWS
6) PLUM BOB
7) PEG

PROCEDURE:--

Let, H= height of building,
1. Setup your theodolite .
2. Place a peg right below the centre of theodolite using plum bob.
3. Measure the height of instrument.
4. Place ranging rods between building and instrument.
5. Measure the distance between theodolite and building.
6. Sight the top of building C and record the angle θ1.
7.  sight the bottom of building A
     record the angle θ2.

H=height of building=H1+H2
H1= height ofinstrument =2.5m
H2=?
Θ1= 12˚2’20”
Θ2= 5˚8’20”
OA = 61.8m

H=H1+H2
  =2.5+BC
 =2.5+tan Θ1 O’B
 =2.5+tan 12˚2’20” X 61.8
 =2.5+13.18
 =15.68m

SO IN THIS WAY YOU CAN FIND HEIGHT OF A BUILDING.
